Terms of use

1. About these terms

These terms cover the checkmyrates website and free calculator, run by checkmyrates, South Africa (“we”). By using the site you agree to them. When accounts and paid plans launch, further terms will apply and we will show them before you sign up.

2. What the service is

checkmyrates is a calculator and quote tool. It turns the figures you enter into estimates and comparisons. It does not read a merchant’s accounts, does not check your figures, and is not financial, legal or tax advice.

3. Using the calculator

  • Use it lawfully and fairly. Do not try to break, overload, copy or scrape the site.
  • You are responsible for the figures you enter and for anything you tell a merchant, using the results.
  • The calculator can load made-up demo numbers. Do not treat them as real rates or real savings.

4. Names, logos and claims about other providers

When quotes with your own details become available, you must have the right to use any company name, logo or contact details you add. You are responsible for making sure what a quote says about the merchant’s current provider is accurate, fair, and allowed by the advertising and comparison rules where you operate.

5. No guarantees

The site and calculator are provided “as is”. Every figure is an estimate, and we do not guarantee any saving, any rate, or that the tool is free of errors or always available.

6. Our content

The site, the calculator, the sample quote and their design belong to us or our licensors. You may use the results you create for your own quotes. You may not copy the tool itself.

7. Limit on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from decisions made using the estimates, or for loss of profit, business or data. A solicitor should confirm this wording for South Africa.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.

9. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. Questions: Merchantstatementchecker@gmail.com.
